周啟良於1980年開始研習古典結他,1982年贏得[香港結他大賽]古典組冠軍。同年入讀[香港音樂專科學校]主修結他演奏。1984年獲獎學金到西班牙參加[聖地牙哥音樂節],1987年赴西班牙馬德里皇家音樂學院深造,師從多位著名結他演奏家及作曲家,如:Manuel Barrueco及Leo Brouwer等習藝。 

　　　周氏除經常作獨奏演出外,亦有參與室樂演奏,至今已首演超過20首香港作曲家之結他作品。於1996年及2005年先後錄製了[Duet]及[六弦新世界]兩張結他室樂專輯鐳射唱片。周氏近年演出頻繁,2004年與名口琴家陳錦樂於廣州星海音樂廳作專場演奏會、與長笛好手陳國超於澳門作專場演奏會及於香港大會堂演奏廳作[西班牙音樂剪影結他演奏會]。 

  　　周啟良為香港最活躍的結他演奏家。於2005年5月,周氏被邀於[音樂新一代]中演出6首香港作曲家之作品,是次演出由[香港作曲家聯會]及[香港電台]聯合主辦,並於香港電台第4台作直播。7月被邀於[2005中國潮州國際結他藝術節]中擔任評委、專題講座及演出。2006年10月周氏獲[西班牙結他手工大師協會]之邀於上海舉行的[2006中國(上海)國際樂器展覽會]中作結他獨奏示範演出。

   　　近年周氏不斷拓展結他之演出範疇。如與中國著名琵琶演奏家李戈於2005年5月在[香港科技大學]及2006年5月深圳之演出引起熱烈迴響。又與香港作曲家/詩人陳家富及口琴家陳錦樂於[2005第2屆珠江詩歌節]在廣州的演出。周氏更與[香港中英劇團]於2005年10月[情迷拉丁節]中為[事先張揚的求愛事件]舞台劇作現場結他演奏。並於2006年3月獲邀於香港管弦樂團與歌手黃耀明在香港體育館之[電幻狂想曲]中演出。2006年9月周氏領導[妙思結他合奏團]作專場演出,其中除委約並首演香港知名作曲家許翔威的結他作品外,亦包括兩首周氏之原創作品,甚獲好評。

Stephen Chau – Guitarist  

Stephen Chau began studying classical guitar in 1980, and won the first Prize at the Hong Kong Guitar Festival, Classical Section in 1982. He entered the Hong Kong Music Institute in the same year, majoring in guitar performance. In 1984, he received a scholarship to participate in Musica en Compostela in Spain, and furthered his studies at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica in Madrid in 1987, studying under renowned guitarists and composers, among them Manuel Barrueco and Leo Brouwer. 

In addition to solo performances, Stephen is also keen on chamber music, and recorded his “Duet” CD on guitar chamber music in 1996 and “Guitar New Age” in 2005. To date, he has premiered over 20 guitar works by Hong Kong composers. In 2004, Stephen was invited to perform at Xinhai Concert Hall, Guangzhou, with renowned harmonica player Mark Chan, and in Macao with flautist Chan Kwok-chiu. The same year in May, Stephen held the “Spanish Music Silhouette Guitar Concert” at the City Hall Recital Hall. 

In May 2005 Stephen was invited to perform six chamber music compositions by Hong Kong composers at “New Generation 2005” concert presented by the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild and broadcast by the Radio Television Hong Kong. In July Stephen was invited as a jury member, to perform and gave lecture at “2005 China Chaozhou International Guitar Festival”, Chaozhou. In October 2006 Stpehen was invited by the Spanish Guitar Master Craftman's Guild to perform guitar solo at Music China-International Exhibition for Musical Instruments & Services, Shanghai China.  

Recently Stephen seek new possibilities to perform with different art forms, such as with China renowned pipa player Li Ge to perform at Hong Kong University of Science & Technology in May 2005 and in Shenzhen, China in May 2006. He teamed up with Hong Kong composer/poet Chan Ka-fu and harmonica player Mark Chan and was invited to perform and recite the poems of Chan Ka-fu at “The 2^nd Pearl River Poem Art Festival 2005” in April, Guangzhou. Stephen also collaborated with Chung Ying Theatre Company to play live music at theatre “The Postman” in “Latin Passion Festival” in October 2005.In March 2006 Stephen was invited to perform with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and pop star Anthony Wong’s “Bauhinian Rhapsody” at Hong Kong Coliseum. In September 2006 Stephen held a concert with the Muse Guitar Ensemble. In which he commissioned and premiered a new guitar composition by Hong Kong well known composer Hui Cheung-wai, and two original guitar works by Stephen himself with enthusiastic responses. 

During April 2007 Stephen teamed up with harmonica player Mark Chan, keyboard player Paul Chan and frame drum player John Lee as Ars Nova Ensemble to give 3 concerts at Hong Kong Fringe Club. In which was impressed the manager of Art Festival of Hong Kong Leisure & Cultural Services, due to the invitation of 20 performances of school tour between September & October 2007, which was over 10,000 audience attendence to the art of Stephen's playing. And a concert 'Mediterranean Lyricism' of Mediterranean music and recite of poems which is part of the programme of Mediterranean Festival.

周啟良珠海古典吉他音乐会侧记 

2008年7月31日晚，在广东珠海影视培训基地演奏厅，香港古典吉他名家周啟良音乐会在这里举行。出席音乐会的听众来自江苏、安徽、浙江、山东、湖南、福建、河南、广西、广东及香港、澳门等地总共150多位，大部分是参加第七届中国（珠海）吉他艺术节的营员和参加吉他大赛的选手，珠海本地也有不少的吉他发烧友出席。 

8时整，周启良先生身着黑色礼服，登台献艺，热情的听众立刻给予了热烈的掌声，周先生演奏了Luys de Narvaez的《看守牛主题与变奏曲》、　Alonso de Mudarra的《幻想曲》、Joaquin Rodrigo的《祈祷与舞踊》等曲目，动听的音乐打动着现场的听众，周启良先生的演出得到了大批吉他听众的热烈支持。

接着，周启良先生与其儿子周浩珉演奏了吉他二重奏——《西班牙小夜曲》，他们父子的默契，伴奏衬托着旋律，旋律交织着伴奏，让我们感受到夜曲的宁静与和谐之美。《土耳其進行曲》是大家熟悉的曲目了，快速节奏与频频的把位转换被年仅14岁周浩珉弹的如此从容…… 

由于场内座位有限，而热情的听众太多，主办方在现场安排了室外直播，为保证演奏时的音响效果，本次音乐会争取到了宁波市鄞州声科电子有限公司的大力支持，为音乐会提供了高品质的电容话筒及其它音频设备，让周启良父子的古典吉他演奏拾音效果得到了充分的展现，使场内场外的吉他乐友都可以观赏、聆听到好的效果。
